Gebruik Grove draad of fijne draad, voor niet in de schroefdraad dichtende verbindingen.
Beschrijving Deze draad wordt gebruikt voor het mechanisch verbinden van onderdelen, onder andere fittingen en afsluiters. Afdichten van de verbinding gebeurt door het samendrukken van beide afdichtvlakken buiten de schroefdraad en door tussenleggen van een geschikte afdichting. Inschroefpluggen van het type A (met afdichtring) en type B (met afdichtende rand) en het type E (op afspraak) zoals ook de bijbehorende boutgaten van type X (met uitloop) en type Y (met groef), elk volgens DIN 3852 deel 1 (zie pagina 8 – 10) hebben M-schroefdraad volgens deze norm.
